I was under the impression that Wordpress Themes were easily customizable - that you just use one of the many thousands of Free ones, or buy a cool one and customize it. SO I purchased from you the Retro Portfolio 4 Theme, being led to believe that what I'd purchased was the WHOLE theme - as shown in its DEMO, and I'd "simply" customize it, and publish it. Well, NO. What comes with my purchase is NOT the "theme" but a very convoluted set of intricate instructions that are just impossible to follow. Not opinion, FACT. A friend of mine (who knows websites and HTML) have already spend HOURS scratching our heads and we've not gotten past step 2. It requires Photoshop, and knowledge of Photoshop, etc. To make a LONG story short, I find this Theme to be IMPOSSIBLE for the layperson to Customize and need to get my purchase money BACK. Guess I'll have to use Wix, or spend a ton of money to have someone to make me a site : (
Please somehow confirm that I'll be receiving a refund, else I'll have to Dispute the Charge on my CC, and you'll be hit with a dispute fee. Thanks for nothing.
I am sorry for your disappointment. I don't really know what you was expecting from our theme; we sold thousands of licenses and the overall rating is very high. By the way, if you still want to get refunded, please read the Envato guidelines:
What I was EXPECTING was a completed Template of your Theme...exactly what you see in your "Live Demo". That's what you receive when purchasing "themes" or "templates" from other vendors like Wix and RapidWeaver. I expected the FULL site with all it's pages and links....THEN I'd just use my Wordpress Dashboard to "customize it" for my own purposes. As you know, that is NOT what I got. All I got was a "tool kit" - a completely unfinished/unSTARTED site with some very difficult to understand "instructions". I spent HOURS on the instructions, and never even got past my first PAGE. I should not have to own Photoshop, or know how to USE Photoshop or have to take Tutorials, etc in order to customize a premade theme :(
The sad part is not the hoops I'm now going to have to jump through in order to get my full refund. The SAD part is I LOVE your THEME!! And really wanted to use it as my personal website, but there's no WAY I can figure out how to do that. I'd need to be a (or hire one) Wordpress EXPERT in order to Customize your "theme" to become my website.
Very disappointed. I love that theme : ( Maybe YOU can tell me how I'd go about turning your Theme into my site...certainly not by simply reading the enclosed "instructions"
You are continuing to say wrong things and I feel quite offended for that: the theme we sell is the same theme you can see in our demo, we are not cheating anyone. We have sold thousands of licenses and no one complained about how hard is to use the theme like you are doing.
You said that you was expecting a full site with pages and links: well, WordPress doesn't work that way (probably you find hard to use WordPress, not the theme itself); and, in any case, in the documentation you may find instructions to import the demo content.
There's nothing we can do If you are not happy with it, I am sorry, ask for a refund and go on.
