I'm trying to add a new section to my client's website http://www.beerbellyjellies.co.nz/

It will be a news section, displaying posts marked with the "news" category. When I try to add this to the main nav menu (Appearance/Menus), it doesn't display the icon I've chosen in the main nav. Each time I set the icon and save it, the icon isn't saved and the dropdown menu for "Menu Icon" (under the additional configuration options arrow) returns to the "select" setting again.

This essentially means I cannot add any new sections to my client's website, as I can't add them properly to the main nav.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Probably you have not configured the homepage yet, that\'s the reason you can\'t add sections. Please read carefully the theme documentation (it\'s the Help.pdf file contained into the package); if that doesn\'t help, please provide me your WP credentials and I\'ll try to help you.

    Hi again,

Is it mandatory to set the site up in the way you describe - with the homepage built using sections within the \"Velo homepage\" template?

    No.

Now, let\'s come to your issue. I\'ve spent half an hour trying to understand what\'s wrong and it\'s not still really clear to me. By the way I\'ll try to explain how Velo menu works and a possibile workaround for that issue. On Velo, we are taking advantages of the description category field to set a specific icon; that description field has to contain the class name of the icon you choose. Now, anything works fine on our website demo, but not on yours and I can\'t figure out why. By the way the issue is only on Category links and I\'ve found a quick workaround for that: when you add a Category link to the menu, you must set an icon class in the description field (whatever icon class, e.g.: icon-envelope - see the screenshot); then, save the menu. At this point, the value inside that textarea contains a value recognised by Velo and that does not generate any js error. So, on page refresh, you can easily change the icon from the dropdown menu.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,

    P.
