We're running 8.1 for our demos with no errors (see screenshot), so I'd say that the theme is compatible with PHP8. Unfortunately I can't test them with 8.3 because it's not available yet on our server. If you have any specific log error to share kindly let me know: https://wpadvancedads.com/finding-errors-with-wp_debug/
Thanks for the quick response. Happy to hear that Retro 4 should support PHP 8.1
I did some further investigation and I'm still convinced that it is the Retro 4 theme that is causing the issue in Wordpress, when setting the PHP mode to 8.1.
I have added the debug log file (2024-01-12 debug.log).
Retro 4.8.1 is a very outdated theme version (prior to 2016!). Did you purchase it from ThemeForest? If so, you should be able to redownload the latest version, which is 4.10.0. It should resolve the issue with PHP8.
Dear Opendept,
When I update the PHP version of my website to v8 (v8.3 to be specific) WordPress (v6.4.2) crashes and therefore my website.
I have determined this is because of the Retro (v4.8.1) theme. Because if I switch to the default Wordpress theme the website works.
Any idea how to fix this?
Does the Retro theme supports PHP v8?
Thanks for the amazing theme!
Greetings,
Wouter
