Nel Customizer -> Header Settings puoi settare una larghezza maggiore per il logo (Logo Image Width). Purtroppo non è possibile avere anche un'altezza maggiore perché l'altezza del footer è fissa.
this refers to the Retro-Theme as well? Because I cannot find that option there and I would very much like to increase the width of my logo (it's OK that height is fixed). When I simply upload a wider image it gets squeezed down again unfortunately,

No, I'm sorry, that refers to Hemma theme. Any logo tweaks for Retro theme should be done via CSS. Cheers!
